Rita, Rabbit to close friends and family, was always a trail blazer and served others through out her short journey here on earth. She would always say, It takes a village. Not only did she walk the talk but was an example of the talk. She assisted with the raising of her nieces and nephews to be a great contribution to society as well as to their nation. With her influences, her nieces and nephews served collectively over 70 years of Armed services. In 1999, she started her neighborhood Association and served as President for over 17 years. She would received multiple awards, accolades and certificates as well as a Proclamation and a day in her honor. She did not stop there, she became the 1st female in a male dominated industry to become manager, in the beginning of her career in Air conditioning Distribution. She was with us for a short time, however, she wasted no time being an example to what it means to being a servant. Her wit and humor is and will continue to be truly missed by family and very close friends. On August 13, 2019, the old bank building was renamed The Rita Ford Community Center. It will be soon available for event rental for meetings and small parties.
